The Impero Story

From vision to reality: follow the key milestones that have shaped Impero’s journey, from our founding to becoming a trusted SaaS provider for organizations looking to achieve better compliance through risk management and internal controls. 

Two auditors meet in 2006

Our founders, Morten Balle and Jacob Engedal Sørensen, meet while working as auditors at Deloitte. They both recognize the recurring problem that risk & internal control recommendations from audit reports are not effectively implemented year-after-year.

Founded on December 2, 2013

Morten and Jacob join forces to start Impero with the vision of simplifying the risk and internal controls. They set up their first office in Aarhus at the end of 2013.

Onboarded first customers in 2015

From an initial idea to an actual solution, Impero began onboarding initial customers in its home market of Denmark. We are proud to say that many of the initial customers are still using Impero today.

New CEO appointed in 2018

After initially joining the Impero board in 2016, the company welcomed Rikke Stampe Skov as Chief Executive Officer.

Expansion into DACH region

In 2018, Impero also began its expansion into the DACH market and established a local team on the ground in Germany. The Impero platform also begins gaining traction amongst DAX40 companies.

Listed on Nasdaq First North

On April 22, 2021, Impero underwent an initial public offering and began trading on the Nasdaq First North Growth Market.
