Control Module - FAQs

Get answers to the most common feature and functionality questions our customers ask us about the Control Module in the Impero platform.

  • Can I update or change a control after it has been sent?

Great question! To ensure a full audit trail, you cannot update or change a control that has been sent out.

However, you can archive the control activity, update the control design and resend the control. This will also be fully visible in the audit trail, ensuring full transparency in your internal control processes.

  • Can I reassign controls to someone else?

Yes, absolutely. This is especially useful if someone leaves the company or moves to another department.

Once you’ve identified who the new user should be, you can easily reassign controls from one user to another.

  • Can I bulk update the schedule of multiple controls?

Yes, you can easily modify the schedule of controls in bulk.

  • Can controls be used to re-assess my risks on an ongoing basis?

Yes. We see many customers use the control module to ensure that re-assessment of risks happens on a ongoing basis, whether it is quarter, every half year or annually.

Setting up risk & internal controls is not a set-it-and-forget-it exercise. The more proactive you are in re-assessing your risks, the better you can design your mitigating controls.

  • Can I create a report to see if my controls are actually working?

Impero offers several types of reports to help you get an overview of you controls. Our standard reports help you get an overview of control status (pending, overdue or complete). Our task-based controls are useful for getting more detailed insights into control performance based on radio button answers.
