Introducing Impero Assist: AI-assisted. Human validated.

What is Impero Assist?

Impero Assist is a collection of AI-assisted features embedded directly into the Impero platform. The first three features are now live as a beta, but this is just the beginning. We’ll continue expanding Impero Assist based on the needs and feedback of our users.

At this stage, Impero Assist acts as:

• A source of inspiration when designing controls  
• A data analysis partner when working with risk insights  

Our approach is centered around three key goals: ‍

• ‍Accelerate risk & control processes: Leverage AI-assisted starting points to reduce time spent on control design and streamline ongoing risk management activities. ‍
• Simplify day-to-day operations: Reduce manual, repetitive tasks and introduce optimizations based on existing metadata in your Impero environment. ‍
• Support insight-driven decisions: Gain clearer overviews of your risk and control landscape through intelligent summaries and analysis – while maintaining transparency, control, and audit readiness through human validation.

Our approach to AI: Not AI-first, AI-assisted

At a time when many GRC and tax technology platforms are pushing an AI-first narrative, we’re taking a more deliberate approach.

We believe AI should support risk and control management – not redefine it.

As David Højelsen, CTO at Impero, explains:

"There are a lot of platforms in our space promoting an AI-first approach. We’re choosing a different path. We want to use AI where it makes sense for risk and control processes – but we don’t believe it will replace human validation and verification."

Just as importantly, it’s clear what AI should not do within Impero:

• AI capabilities are opt-in and enabled by your admin  
• Your data is never used to train AI models  
• Features are designed to minimize the risk of data leakage  

As David adds:

"We’re not enabling AI unless it’s explicitly opted in by the admin. We’re not training on your data, and we’ve designed these features to reduce the risk of data leakage."

This ensures that organizations can benefit from AI-driven efficiency – without compromising trust, control, or audit readiness.

Built for human validation

A defining aspect of our approach to AI is human validation by design. Risk, internal controls, and compliance inherently rely on human judgment and verification – and that should not change when introducing AI into your workflows.

Impero Assist is built to support, not replace, these processes. Every AI-generated output is intended to be reviewed, validated, and approved by a user, aligning with the four-eyes principle and ensuring that governance remains transparent, controlled, and audit-ready.
